Meko surveys the job before we begin

Bringing in the tools
We had to rip up the subfloor to get the massive squeaks out. Notice how they hung the drywall for the apartment downstairs (hint: the white strip).
The builders thought no one would ever see. This floor was obviously never inspected due to some obvious code violations.
Because the beams were uneven, the subfloor was uneven so we had to level it with some floor leveler.
And then we put down another subfloor on top of the old one.
Beginning to put down the hardwood laminate flooring.
Meko hid in the bathroom during the sawing, hammering and other loud noises.
Meko voicing his complaints
Hallway laid down.
Put down the quarter round on top of the floor to finish it off.
New hardwood floor meets almost new tile floor.
