thanks to the internal 8-speed hub, no offset was needed in mounting the rear wheel, as you might have with an external cassette.

Thorsten props up the seat to see where I want it. I prefer a more upright position when touring, so we ended up making a custom bracket to raise the back of the seat as high as possible.

uh oh! a crash!
on the downhill side, getting up to 30 kph, the right front tie-rod came loose causing the right wheel to fold under me, sending me forward into the pavement. I suffered a bit of road-rash from sliding a few meters, but I walked away. Closer inspection of both tie-rods revealed that neither were tightened at the factory (at either end), as originally thought.

my quick-n-dirty fix so that I was able to ride it back to the Leitra shop (about 2 km). the bolt for the tie-rod was missing.

starting first layer of polyurethene coating in orange (camera makes it look more red for some reason).

4 layers of polyurethane painting completed to all the parts: top, sides, lower skirt, roof. the next step is to apply a final coat that is mixed with a fine powder to help the glass-fiber layer to adhere to the paint. when cured they will bond, coloring the outer layer of the glass-fiber.
