Dragonfly Catcher, Bali. This woman was catching dragonflies for dinner. She used a long bamboo pole smeared with some sticky fruit to entrap the dragonflies.

Boy to be circumcised, outside of Rabat, Morocco. We happened to be in Morocco when the 2 year old prince was being circumcised. To celebrate the prince's circumcision the king was offering free circumcision to other boys. This boy in particular was too young to understand what was to happen to him and seemed more put off by the fussing that his mother and grandmother were doing and the fancy clothes he had to wear.
Owl Girl, Sahara Desert, Morocco. I think of her as the owl girl because she and her younger brother each turned up with a baby owl in their hands. These bedraggled owls gulped down the water that we gave them.
Snake Handler, Kasbah - Amerhidil, Morocco. This guy's showed up with a couple of snakes in a burlap sack and then unhinged one snake's jaw and attached it to his forehead while holding the other one in his hand.
Rajasthan, India. We stopped our car along the road from Pushkar to Jaipur at a farmer's market. I was able to take a number of portraits of interesting old men that were sitting around waiting for customers.
Washing, Ganges River, Varanasi, India. This scene was repeated all along the Ganges River in Varanasi. In spite of the river being incredibly polluted, people washed dishes or industrial milk pails, swam, bathed and brushed teeth in this river.

Rajastan, India. This woman and a bunch of her friends were fetching water from the town well when I happened along. They carried the water in large metal jars on their heads.
