Oasis (day 2 camp).
Villages in the canyon - we stayed in the one on the right on the first night, then walked through the village at top-left on day 2

Apparently the canyon was formed by an earthquake - you'd be pretty knackered on this slope when the next one hits
At 3,269m deep, (more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon - I'm trusting Wikipedia here), Colca is the 2nd deepest in the world. The deepest is within spitting distance, given a good tailwind.

I managed to walk barefoot through a prickle patch - spent 20 minutes on each foot and I'm still pulling them out a week later. Needless to say it was quite painful on the walk back out of the canyon
I would normally be disgusted by a cat eating from a dinner plate, but I'd already eaten my meal and the remainder of two other people's, so there was plenty to go around. I was actually quite fond of this cat (not normally a cat man) because he attacked two of our group members then curled up in my lap (justifying numerous Dr Claw impersonations).
We took off at 3am on the final day, not entirely sure why.
Condor at Cruz del Condor
One and a half condors
Two specks, nay, condors
Lots of specks (I assure you they're condors)
