One Adidas ad
The other Adidas ad! (I was on a treadmill.)
By Robert Vance Blosser. I was DAYS away from finding out that the reason I was so skinny was because I was/am an insulin dependent diabetic!!!
I don't know where I found this. It's a Mapplethorpe photo, stolen and used for some kind of Star Trek thing! Un-tampered with, it is one of my favorite Mapplethorpe images.

By Robert Mapplethorpe (c 1983) This is one of the images that created my modeling career. This one, and the one that follows, has appeared: in museums and galleries all over the world; on t-shirts; in calendars; on greeting cards, post cards, and posters; in zillions of art and photography books; in countless magazines; and on many, many, many websites.
By Robert Mapplethorpe c.1984 Robert Sherman and me. This is the other image that seems to garner a lot of attention from the art and photography world. Robert S. also has the same hairless medical condition I have. This image was just chosen as the cover of the latest Mapplethorpe book. In stores as of 12/07.
Robert Sherman and I at an art opening, 25 years after the famous photo was taken. He recently celebrated his 51st birthday!
Still from a student film "Blue Lola".
Photo by Steve Vaccariello. This is part of a series that just showed in Paris. Taken in 2005

This image was used as a poster for the international dance event that happens in Lyon, France every 2 years. What I never expected was to be flown to Lyon, put up in a luxury hotel, and acknowledged as the "face" of the festival at many of the performances!!! Particularly because I DO NOT dance! Versions of this poster were all over France before the festival. And you may notice this photo is the same style as my underwear box. It's because it was the same photographer.
My Hom underwear box! For me, this was a triumph. The things I'd always wanted to do were billboards, music videos, fashion editorial, magazine covers, and at least ONE product package!!! These boxes were used mostly in Asia and Europe. But they were seen here in America too.

Benetton ad
In 1990, these ads were on city buses in NYC. We found out later that relay racers place the baton into a hand that is "palm up" to discourage dropping the baton. (I never did relay racing, as you can see.)

Penthouse magazine. YES, they do fashion for men sometimes too!

Vogue Hommes. And if I'm not mistaken, this was my first fashion shoot in Paris!!! I felt I had "arrived".

Test shoot done in Deauville, France! I was supposed to be a very chic jewel thief. (Notice the stuff that's spilling out of my cool leather waist bag.)
My first fashion show in Paris!
The same fashion show in Paris. The week after the runway shows, this image appeared in Time Out magazine along with the caption "RAMPANT TITILLATION!!!". Apparently the writer felt that many of the men's shows that season were terribly sexy, or titillating. (lol)
This image ended up being used as billboards all over Paris in 1990
and here's one of the billboards!

And this was how the promo shot was used! (56th st and Madison ave.)

On a set, playing with props and contact lenses.
On a video set being painted gold for the music video "Say It" by ABC. In the 80's and 90's I appeared in about a dozen music videos. Throughout my career people were always painting me for one reason or another.
Somewhere in the south of France (a town called Frejus, not far from Nice and Cannes), on a video set working with the late French video artist Thierry Kuntzel. We did a series of fine art videos that showed at the Museum of Modern Art here in NYC.
Me on Martha Wash's lap during the shooting of the "Give It To You" music video! When she lip syncs to the playback, she actually sings! And during this scene, she was singing in my ear! (sigh)
