"It was a beatiful afternoon indeed. Winter is certainly more reliable than summer around here when it comes to the weather in the city. But today, for example, we got denied by low visibility (less than 3 miles) anyways. Waited for a couple of hours in PAO but decided to quit after the clouds had dissipated but visibility dropped down to 2.5 miles."

1) It's pretty high by WA (48.5 deg N) standards -- the peak is 7088 ft.
2) It was a very snowy winter all over the west coast. On a typical year this trail is supposed to be snow-free."
Mike Danilov
"Why so much snow? it doesn't look like you're very high in mountains."

"Hmm, looking at the map, "West" seems to be word we're looking for. But it felt like North to me at the time :)"
Mike Danilov
"AFAIU these heights do not have snow on a good summer. Year-round snow every year starts at around 7500ft in WA North Cascades (on this photo that would be the ridge in the background)"
Dmitry Lomov
"Hmm this looks more like southern view to me?"
Dmitry Lomov
