Arctic sailing of “Peter I” awarded as “The Best Long-distance Sailing Voyage of the Year” in “Russian Sailor of the Year Award”.
The prize-giving ceremony of Russian analogue of ISAF Sailor of the Year Award was held in Moscow at 2, December, 2010. More than 70 applicants were pretending to get the honorable title in 12 nominations. Young crew of “Peter I” became the winners in “The Best Long-distance Sailing Voyage of the Year” nomination. The award was given to new generation of Arctic explorers by Artur Chilingarov, famous Polar hero of Russia, State Duma member.
In the next season newly-made Russian Sailors of the Year are looking to arrange an Arctic Rally for 10 yachts.
