The chair with the pillow the bride sits on
The Godmother "prepares" the bride for the wedding
The Godmother pretends to be putting the veil on the bride and fussing over her hair and make-up. But this is just symbolic, it has already been done
The family is all standing in the room watching these preparations.
Then it is the grooms turn, the Godmother and Godfather help him prepare for the wedding.
Then the bride must place the flowers on each of her family members as a way to say goodbye to each of them.
Then the dancing commences. This is before the wedding ceremony has already started.
Sorina and Marian are happy to be there
More dancing. (At this point it was about 3 in the afternoon. Keep in mind, they kept this up until 5 in the morning the next day. No exaggeration!)
Just because Sorina will be mad I posted this pic ;)
The candles that the Godparents hold during the ceremony at the church
The Groom comes to the home of the bride to take her to the ceremony, but they don't actually ride in the car together. The Bride rides with the Godfather and the Groom with the Godmother. Not until after the church ceremony do they ride in the same car.
As they leave the Brides house, the hold a pound cake over the brides head and then throw four pieces to the four winds.
As the Bride leaves her home they threw flower petals and rice before her for good luck and beauty.
The aunt of the bride (and my inside connection to this wedding)
This is at the Botanical Gardens in Galati where the bride and the groom went to have pictures taken with the family.
Kinda reminds you of something doesn't it?
Beautiful flowers
Sorina in deep, serious conversation with one of the guests.
The Bride and the Groom enter the church
The Bride and the Groom stand in the church with the Godparents at their side.
The Godparents each have a very large part in the ceremony.
Darling girl at the wedding
They passed out chocolates during the wedding ceremony.
For the entire ceremony you are excepted to stand. Around the wall of the church, they have these chairs. But the only people who are supposed to use them are the very young, and the very old.
