Steel, raised pebble forms. 60mm long, 15mm wide, 4mm high ( excluding the pegs on the back )
With a lump of rough aquamarine, from Brazil...I think.
With a copper test plate I did a couple of years ago, showing some experiments for d'fly wings. I think I'll try something a bit different this time though.
First menuki almost completed. A little subtle toning of the silver and a light wax should do it,

Starting work on the second menuki. The body of the dragonfly being inlaid. The body is shibuichi.
The body set and roughly shaped. the silver wings can be seen just above. the finger is just to give a sense of scale.
The eyes nearly fully carved. Now to refine the shapes by scraping.
The first wing inlaid and roughly shaped. the other wings in the general arrangement they'll end up in.
