APhAmigos! Peer Mentor Meeting (Sept 3, 2009)
APhA has finally launched its new Peer Mentoring Program, APhAmigos!
Our goals are to:
- Help mentees transition into their first year at St. John's University through on campus activities and networking
- Encourage mentees to actively participate in the APhA-ASP activities by taking initiatives
- Stimulate mentees' interest for pharmacy through exposure to workshops and events.
- Help mentees network with fellow St. John's students, faculty, and pharmacy colleagues
- Demonstrate what to expect from the pharmacy program through shadowing
- Bring mentees to classes, workshops, study groups, organizational meetings, etc.
- Show mentees what a student pharmacist does with his/her time
- Guide mentees to balance academics and extracurricular activities
