The install was an extremely simple 6-step process.

Konqueror Desktop. This user friendly interface is both a browser and a menu to launch applications, utilities, or browse your directory structures. Sweet!
Desktop settings. You can have multiple desktops in Ubuntu. This is such a great feature. It is much easier to pop back and forth between desktop sessions then it is to keep multiple windows open on a single desktop. You can also customize the look and feel of each desktop.
Wallpaper Settings. Here is where I chose my wallpaper. This feature allows you to easily download additional wallpapers from the net.
Online Help. The help is wiki like and very robust.
Adept Manager. This user friendly interface allows non technical users to select literally thousands of open source products and installs them with two simple clicks. One click to select the software and another to apply it.
Adept Manager. This is where I chose to install Wine. Open Office came preinstalled.
Installing packages. Instead of messing with tar files, I simply chose the packages I wanted and the Adept Manager did the rest for me.
