Norseman 2010
Some say this is the world hardest ironman. I agree! The start is at 5 am in a deep, dark fjord on the west coast of Norway. After 3.8 km of swimming, its a huge climb up to The Hardangervidda platou - 1200 m above sealevel. After crossing this harsh enviroment you go though Geilo, which is about half the cycle course. Next up is 3 big climbs before the last hill which is about 7 km and 10% climb rate. The run starts at Tinnsjø, a big lake in upper Telemark. Here you first go 25 km flat before you meet "Zombi hill" taking you up from 1000 m up from Rjukan at 200 m. The last 5 km of the run is on a stony trail, right up to the highest peak in South-Norway, 1800 m above the sea.
