USS Fletcher DD-992 Tiger Cruise 2004

USS Fletcher DD-992 Tiger Cruise from Pearl Harbor, Hawaii to San Diego, California. May 27, 2004 to June 3, 2004. All photos by Earl Faubion unless otherwise noted. Fletcher was originally homeported in Pearl Harbor. In August 2002 Fletcher departed Pearl on a six-month tour of the Middle East and participated in a unique Navy program called, "Sea Swap", remaining on station in the Middle East for almost 2 years and rotating crews. The final crew came from the decommissioned USS Elliot DD-967 in San Diego and it was this crew's CO who invited Greg Schueller and I, veterans of the DD-445, to sail with him as his guests as they returned home at the end of their deployment on "America's Finest Destroyer". Photos are in chronological order.
