"Venus would be cool. I haven't tried a telephoto, other than 300 mm for the moon. This particular shot was wide angle, to get in the whole big dipper."
Andy Butler
"I'm going to try that on Venus (well, not ON Venus! ;) Ha!) I was taking photos of the Super Moon Friday night with my 500mm lens and turned the camera on Venus before changing the settings. All I got was a tiny speck. However, when I cropped the photo very tight, I could see it was a crescent! I've shot Orion's nebula before, it looks like a "smudge"."

"I tried several combinations, but 5 sec at f/3.5, with ISO 6400 worked here. The following night I did a 30 sec exposure, which revealed many more stars than you could see with the naked eye."
Andy Butler
"Wow! These photos are incredible, Andy!"

"Great photos, I tried it and ended up with darkness."

"Yes, they are ephemeral, blooming in the morning and withering as the day heats up. If cloudy, they will last most of the day, but not if it's sunny."

"Patriotic flowers! :)"

"Beautiful! I saw only one of those when we were in TX a few years ago. It was in the afternoon and the flower was partially closed."
Kris Light
