Swimming Team 1962 - Myself Centre
These are just some of the swimming certificates, cups and medals I won in Singapore between 1961-63. I won all the medals at different events at one meeting of the Singapore Schools Open Swimming Gala. I was also in the Basket ball team and Athletics team and won the Sportsman of the Year Cup. At the time I smoked about 10-20 cigarettes a day and did little or no training. When I left Singapore I never swam in competition again.

I think this was tanken on Black a Mata Island. Later renamed Santosa and is now a holiday resort.

John Mc.Loughlin on the right but I can't remember the name of my mate. He lived quite close to me in Jahore Baru and had a good looking elder sister. We had just arrived home after a three day Jungle trip for the D of E award.
