Two week trip to Normandy France from home in Torrevieja to see Marie Cooper's sister who lives in Normandy. We went up the west coast of France and came back via the Milau Bridge.

R.E. Training Regiment Nov. 1963

I can't remember the number of our training intake but it ran from 11/11/1963 to 26/4/1964. I remember it not only for the highs and lows of training but also that it was one of the coldest winters in living memory. The pain in our hands as the blood started to flow back into our frozen hands after rifle drill for an hour on the freezing parade square was excruciating.

42 Fld Squadron Hameln Germany 1964-67

42 Fld Squadron Osnabrook & Hamlin Germany 1964-67 The First 25 Photos where taken on an Adventure training exercise in Luxembourg. We did an awful lot of walking but made up for it at night by doing a lot of drinking. I also seem to remember we had an assault boat with a forty HP moter and some one thought it would be a good idea to see if we could water ski behind it. So we nailed a pair of plimsolls to two lengths of floor board . Pity I haven't got photos of them but they did actually work and we some great fun with them.

Black & White Photos Post Crown Thailand road project Oct. 1967 - Terendak Camp and various other bridge building projects through to our last road project in The New Territories Hong Kong. Oct 1969 and a small foot bridge built by the other corps walking wounded in the Cameron High Lands.

Colour slides of people and places from 11 Ind.Fld.Sqdrn. Royal Engineers Terendak Camp Malacca Malaysia 1968-70. A lot of these slides have not reproduced very well due to the Blue Peter copying method I have had to invent because of lack of funds preventing me from buying the proper equipment. ( Sorry)

66 Plant Squadrn Royal Engineers - Canada

Road project Quebec State Canada 9th June 1973 - 21st Oct 1973. I believe the road was built for the forestry commission of Canada and ran through a forested area outside Quebec City. We basically flattened a large hill and made a road out of it. While there we managed to get some time off and visited Quebec, Toronto, Ottawa,Niagara Falls and New York State America. AMF (L) TROOP 1973/75

AMF(L) Troop Royal Engineers; photos taken on winter exercises in three x three months winter exercises supporting the Royal Marines in Norway. From Kristiansand in the South to Stavanger, Bergen, Voss and Trondheim in the North.The brand new Volvo snow blowers were presented to us by an infantry Captain who new absolutely nothing about plant machinery and just left two of them with us along with the instruction manual. Who ordered them from Volvo and who had designed them for fitting onto the lifting arms of the Murhill front end loader we never did find out. The weight of the machines made the Murhill a little unstable and twitchy when travelling between exercise areas but they made short work of any snow drifts and we cleared the roads and kept them clear with ease. Because they were so efficient they gave us loads of free time to ski and play.

Mediterranean Flowers on the Costa Blanca Spain (Blooming Spain)

Mostly wild flowers in and around Torrevieja. Until I started photographing wild flowers in this area of the Costa Blanca I never realised how many there are. At a glance for most of the year the fields and country paths look dry and bare but come Spring the sun burnt fields turn to meadows and wild flowers shoot up every where.. Putting a name to them all is NOT going to be easy! I'm just an amateur photographer not a botanist.
