Some of our team stayed at the "Lundazi Castle." Accommodation wasn't quite what you might expect from a castle.

Some places we stayed were a bit spartan. In a heavy malaria area, the mosquito net had holes big enough to let a mouse through.

The observers assigned to my plane, Shower and Wisdom (or Jatton and Kaumbwe, since I made them tell me their real names too). We spent many hours in the airplane together.

All our fuel had to be brought out to the remote areas in drums and then hand-pumped into the airplane. Three airplanes surveying used 4-5 drums of fuel every day (about 200-250 gallons).
