We have to clean up, Hannah's coming today!
I just got to Hampton, New Hampshire. I was in my box for almost three thousand miles, but Lanie and Mia were really nice and friendly when I got out.
There are so many things they wanted to show me
But it was cold and rainy and windy when I got there, so for my first night, we stayed in and did crafts.
I don't think that Kaya girl likes me much, she hardly talked and never smiled.
The American Independence Museum at the Ladd/Gilman House
My friend Felicity is knocking on the door because we can't get in
HI, I'm in Exeter today!
My cool friend Felicity from Colonial Times
This is Phillips Exeter Academy, I heard it's a really good school
Exeter is a fun town. They are always having festivals and parades (like the Alien Festival and The Revolutionary War Fest), and they're really into history. Did you know they were the capitol of New Hampshire during the War of Independence?
Hampton Beach, where my host lives in an apartment.
Newburyport, Massachusetts, a mall called "The Tannery"
This store in The Tannery is called "The Wishbasket" and has lots of pretty (but not cheap!) home decorating stuff
Isn't this sculpture weird?
It's throwing up!
More stuff in The Wishbasket's gourmet foods section
Kaya doesn't hate me after all. She just doesn't trust people easy. I found out she likes country music too! She gave me a ticket to her dad's concert !
My hair!
These are real fishing communities, this is a working fishing boat behind me
And surfing is big! I thought people only surfed in warm water, but these guys go out in snowstorms.
I'm in Hampton again!
Five miles off the coast, there's some islands called The Isles of Shoals, which you can see on a very clear day. Today wasn't that clear, but it was so clear later in the week (when my host wouldn't stop to take a picture!) that you could even see the buildings on the islands. They were discovered in 1614 by Captain John Smith, and settled by a man who was thrown out of the Plymouth Colony for dancing around a maypole.
My host's dad is holding me up so I can see the water
Next, I'm going to American Girl Place, a Christmas store, an old fashioned cheesemaker's and on a hike.
Let's go to more new places
A classic Newburyport scene (sorry, I mixed up which order my photos go in)
Boring grocery shopping
We accidentally got locked in the car all night!
I'm at The Christmas Dove, in Barrington, New Hampshire. It's a huge Christmas ornament store, but it's located on an obscure backroad, down a long driveway, and there were still customers at 9 a.m
These dolls are sooo pretty, but I have to remember I'm going to AGP too.
Annalee dolls are very famous Christmas decorations
And they're made in New Hampshire's "Lakes Region". My hosts were going to take me to see the outlet store but we may not have time.
I'm starting to forget that there's anything other than Christmas, Christmas, Christmas!
Hi, guys!
So, that was The Christmas Dove. Next, I went across the street to Calef's to see the locally famous cheese and candy, but I will post those later.
Odiorne State Park in November. This is one place we'll be hiking when we go.
