Cute little house. Needs work.
but oh, the view!
So we did. A lot. Of work.
Porch was a mess
not anymore
much prettier
no railings, rotted wood
landscaping, paint, rebuilt railings
added some color
rocking chairs are necessary
did we mention color?
repurposed slate
the back was rough
much more cheerful now
more deserving of the neighborhood.
How about that shed?
it needed help
and flower beds
and surfboards :-)
Inside - hideous carpet, drop ceilings.
ceilings had to go!
beautiful beadboard and wood.
much nicer now (refinished floors - were battleship gray before)
dining rooms are passe
we prefer open spaces (and ceilings)
hutch, playroom
and sideboard (door leads to office)
more closed off space
so we opened the wall
view from the kitchen
speaking of the kitchen; ugh.
better now as well - counters, sink, paint.
no counters. lonely stove.
counters. happy stove.
washer / dryer - yay!
final countertop, recycling center
clutter begone, corkboard on electric panel
office was a bit dated.
less ugly now
lots of books
not terribly inviting
a more pleasant palace
more 70s paneling
more beautiful wood, original beadboard and paint
a bit more inspiring than before
long dark hallway. what's under the drop ceilings?
love the heat ducts?
love the bathroom faux tile? sink?
we didn't. paint, floors, bathroom. moved the master bedroom door too.
shower before
shower after (ceilings improved too)
commode before
commode after
master bedroom. flowers and drop ceilings
pepto bismol pink and green rugs. lovely.
lovelier (if you like orange)
better placed doorway
our bedroom got a pretty door
(thanks Rick!)
depressing walk downstairs
inspiring walk downstairs
isaiah's room? sad :-(
more sadness
isaiah's room - happy!
baby's room - sad :-(
baby's room - happy!
baby closet painted too
and the baby's room was ready in time!
