Krkonose

Another trip to Krkonose, this time with our friends Rasto and Majka. We traveled by car and stayed in a small hotel Relax in a village Velka Upa, which lies close to many skiing slopes. On Saturady we hiked to a summit called Snezka and had a very interesting weather. Low clouds and mist in the morning but half sunshine and strong wind on the very top of Snezka above all the clouds. In the evening we went to sauna and whirpool, drank wine, ... The next day we hired two sleds and had much fun going downhill. We enjoyed the time and definitely would like to come back.

Krkonose

A weekend in Krkonose, just Inna and me. On Saturday we had a very harsh weather, enjoyed by me very much :) Inna enjoyed the cottage definitely more. We were leaving on Sunday shortly after noon and so did only a short trip and all in all we had a great time again.

Popradske pleso

A short trip to Popradske Pleso on Friday afternoon - the only day with a nice weather during our week stay at home. We met quite a lot of people, all coming the opposite direction. Unfortunatelly we did not manage to hike up to the Ostrva peak as it was too late, maybe next time.

Krkonose

Three-day trip to Krkonose - the biggest Czech mountains. We did two stops - one in a beautiful zoo - town Dvur Kralove and the second on the way back to have a look at an old castle Trosky. In Krkonose, Spindleruv Mlyn, we stayed in a nice house, with two friends of us, had fun, did hiking to Lucni and Spindlerova bouda, barbecue, drank bear ...

Obama in Prague

Even though it's Sunday today, I decided to wake up early and listen to Obama's speech in front of the Prague's castle. After some 30 minuntes spent in a huge mass of people moving towards the security check I came to a place around 50 meters from the stage. It was quite an adventure, seeing the us president, best equiped photographs from one side and snipers from the top of the buildings.

Koneprusy

A short trip to Cesky Kras, some 30 km far from Prague. We visited a cave in Koneprusy and did some walking in the nature. The hills were unexpectedly small but we had a great weather and somehow became tired by the end our journey.

Kubinska hola

Kudos :) my exam period is over. On the day of my last exam I travelled home to have some rest. With my younger brother and my father, we went skiing for two days to Dolny Kubin. These days were amazing, I did not ski for sooo long and the conditions were perfect. We stayed at my grandparets' house and had the best dinner you can imagine.

Dresden

On the third advent weekend we did a trip to a nearby german town - Dresden, which has a very long history and despite of being destroied heavily during the World War II, it amazed us with very nice architecture. After seeing the old town we did some shopping and visited a huge market place with all its typical german food.

Berlin

A three day trip to the capital of Germany with my girlfriend and two friends of us. We spent a great time there, stayed in a hostel near the Brandenburger Tor, visited the most famous parts of the town, went to a club late at night, had an amazing view from the Berliner Fernsehturm (tower) and finally arranged some rest in the Tropical Islands on the way home.

Prague Botanic Garden

A short visit of a botanic garden, which is devided into two parts. One is an outside exhibition, the second one is called Fata Morgana. We were also witnesses of a fly being eaten by a crasy flesh-eating plant.

This time we decided to travel to a famous spa town in the western part of the country. There are 13 main and about 300 smaller springs, impressive architecture and to say it shorly, the town is great.

Kutna Hora is a small and attractive town round 50 kms far from Prague. It is mainly famous for the Sedlec Ossuary, containing more than 40000 human sceletons but its other parts were definitely worth seeing too.

Stockholm

At the end of our stay in Finland, we visited Stockholm for one day, better said, several hours. We travelled by a ferry and tried to see as much as possible. For a while we felt like Americans exploring the culture of European countries in a three-day trip.

Saint Petersburg

In the time from April 17 to 20 we visited Saint Petersburg, the fourth largest city in Europe, the world's largest city north of Moscow, a city with the world's deepest underground and so many attractions that can only hardly be found in any other part on Earth. We stayed in a hotel close to the main street Nevsky Prospekt and had so much to see that we slept just the minimum possible.

Porvoo

The second oldest town of Finland, Porvoo, lies around 40 km far from Helsinki. It is an attractive tourist destination, with many narrow streets, red river-bank outbuildings, shopping markets and Santa Claus Christmas time opening. The size of the oldtown is pretty small and so after 5 hours of staying, it was the right time to say goodbye and take bus home.

When we were hungry

Here are some fotos from our productive time spent in the kitchen. We decided to bake pizza becaue every pizza contains either milk in the pasta or cheese on the top. If nothing from these, there is soija lecitin in the pasta for sure :) So we did the pasta by ourselves and it was perfect. And then, one day, when we felt so desperate about having no cakes from the arrival time, cause our mothers had to stay at home :( we decided to buy ready frozen cakes from the shop nearby. Unfortunatelly (fortunatelly), these were not ready cakes but just the listkove cesto (Danish pastery) inside. So we quickly gave it a shape and put some marmelade above and had very fine cookies. Then we had Christmas, during which we tried to prepare some traditional slovak meals.

Suomenlinna

Today with Inna and our two czech friends we did a small trip to nearby island called Suomenlinna (Finland's Fortress). It is one of the world's largest maritime fortresses, which was built in the later period of the 18th century. It served in wars against Russians or Anglo - French fleets many years ago. Today round 900 people live on this island. We travelled here by small ferry for about 15 minutes from Helsinki harbour called Kauppatori and had a very nice experience.

My room & flat

I share my flat with four Finnish students in one of the TKY buildings in the campus. It is a very new dormitory, the flat has five rooms, two toilets with heated floor, balcony and a small attic, where nobody goes :), but is quite nice. We have a janitor, who cleans it once a week as well. Yep, so this is my living.

Coming for Finland :)

Hello, first I have to say, it was really worth travelling by bus and ferry to Finland and I recommend it to all people comming here. We have seen one of the longest bridges in the world, Oresund bridge, between Denmark and Sweeden, travelled through Swedish woods and spent one whole night in a cabin of a huge ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki. Here are some fotos from this nice time that I spent with two friends of mine, comming to Helsinki as well, Kristyna and Tomas.
