Opening Day 2011
The first day of sailing at Wakatere Boating Club in Devonport on the North Shore of Auckland for the 2011-2012 season. The day began with formalities in the clubrooms, with Commodore Phil Rzepecky giving a welcome speech, followed by a few words from Tom Ashley, Olympic gold medalist, and newly appointed club President Judy Salthouse. Sailors for 70 boats turned up and were treated to Spring conditions with light to moderate breezes and still bit of a nip in the air.
