Here's our Detroit team anticipating what God is going to do in Detroit.
We huddled up and prayed realizing that we desperately need to rely on God for everything this week.
Solo devlotional time.
Kayla, Amy and Robert were already home sick and tried calling home from the cell phone book and pay phone booth (just kidding about them being homesick:).
We walked to the dead center of Campus and took a group picture on the Michigan "M" which tradition holds if you step on the "M" you flunk your first exam at u of m, which no one cared about breaking that rule since no one plans on attending there.
After dinner we got ready for the next day ( the first day of daycamp) by practing songs, puppets and the lesson.
We picked up the luggage from Faith Bible Church in Farmington Hills, the student ministry of 8 students and 3 leaders we are teaming up with.
we worshipped at Tony McDuffy's church, Mario's friend of 20 years, and the Central Detroit Christian Children's pastor. Tony preached and gave a powerful message on forgiveness.
They fed us a Detroit lunch - chicken, green beens, mac & cheese..
We also started out day camp with a puppet show and songs.

Anthony, our friend that Steve Sterkel became close with last year showed up tonight and in this picture, he just finished sharing hus testmony of how he came to Christ and Aarob Walters ( the youth pastor from Faith Bible Church) wrapped up the evening with the Gospel.

We start the morning out with prayer at daycamp. Hayley is praying with some of the kids.

We had over 100 sandwiches left over from day camp which we had the choice to either throw them away or hand them out to the homeless in Cass Corridor, we chose to hand the sandwhiches out.
We had our first opportunity for down time, so the girls hung out and bonded.

The CDC staff challenged us to a basketball game where it was intense and where we barely won by one point!
It rained on Thursday night when we were planning on going to the wave pool so the boys made their own wave pool until the storm passed through.
We went on a nature walk at Lake Erie Metro park - Jenny & Emma became good friends.

Stan, Mary Ann and Michael surprised us on our field trip at the bowling alley and stopped by to say hello to Allie and they met Tony McDuffy.
