UCT Visit (13 February 2010)
The student turnout was very impressive with our register capturing 390 learners from 6 schools. We hosted learner visitors from Mothotlung High, Malatse-Motsepe High, Mmakau Secondary, Iona Convent (Pretoria) and one learner from S.A. College (Pretoria). The University of Cape Town (UCT) recruiters were pleasantly surprised by the student turnout and expressed their appreciation as this allowed them to tell more learners from the Mmakau / Mothutlung / Ga-Rankuwa areas about UCT. The team commented that this visit was their first to Tsogo and Mmakau – even though Tsogo has produced many alumni for UCT. We are extremely pleased to have provided this “bridge between Cape Town and Mmakau Village” and we hope to create more such ‘bridges’ in future.
