Alexis Arts brings you some basic picture framing procedures to help you get the most for your framing dollar. 1. Choose tones from the picture usually background tones
2. Create an Acid Free Backing panel. We use 1/4" acid free foam core. Never use cardboard, it will ruin your print!
3. Three tones were chosen for this picture using acid free mats. We let 1/4" of the bottom mat and 3/16" of the second mat show in this example.
4. Mats complement the picture. This is why choosing tones carefully bring out the best in the print.
5. Choose a complementing frame. This needs to colored to compliment the mats, usually the bottom mat. The style of the frame need to compliment not only the art but also the style of furniture in the room.
6. The finished piece with low glare glass. Because it is done using Acid Free materials, the print will retain its beauty for years and years. The use of "Filtered Glass" will retain the print colors for even years longer. Contact Alexis Arts at alexisarts@shaw.ca with any questions.
