jordanov den! before we went into the water! the tradition is for a priest to bless a cross and throw it into the water for all the young men in the village to race to. whoever gets it first gives it to the youngest participant. we weren't allowed to jump off the dock with the rest of them... so we made our own little tradition.
after 10 minutes of hiking, i got so hot i had to take off my snow pants. i didn't have anything else, so i spent the day hiking through the snow in my underwear!

ronda, jack, me, and alex! what a great traveling team!!! we decided to spend one week in romania together and it was a very good decision! we saw brasov in transylvania (and many places around it) as well as suceaca in northern romania (an many places around it). we also spent a night in bucharest, but we were unimpressed with it... the entire trip, however, was fantastic!!! a supergreat time had by all!

singing it like we believed it! our final group gathering was in a town outside of sofia called bankia. 3 days of classes for finalizing paperwork and projects, opportunities after peace corps, and how to reintegrate into american culture. one of the nights we organized a karaoke party! our last bash - with our entire group! it was great!!!
