The tour starts in the new shopping mall, about one third of the way down from the Town Square entrance. On the left is the entrance to the Tesco Extra store. On the right, at ground floor level, are three mall retail units. The one nearest the camera is believed to be reserved for the Carphone Warehouse store. The Town Square buildings can be seen beyond the entrance.
We have now moved to the mall's Town Square entrance and are looking out towards the square from just inside the mall.
A closer view of the Square's south-western side, which consists of two units at ground floor level. The developers hope that one of these units will eventually house a large sit-down restaurant.
This is the south-eastern side of the Town Square, which consists of four units at ground floor level. These units are likley to be occupied by two coffee bars, a fast food outlet and a confectioners.
This view shows the canopy-covered area in front of the ground floor units. This area could be used for outside seating.
A wider view of the Town Square, showing (centre picture) the access opening for the walkway that will link to a new pedestrian crossing near the petrol filling station. The upper floors of the Town Square units will be given over to offices.
Another view of the south-eastern side of the Town Square, showing the access opening for the footpath/cycleway that will run along the side of the Tesco Extra store towards a crossing on Savages Wood Road, near the Three Brooks public house.
Now we're back inside the mall arcade, just inside the entrance from the Town Square. The entrance to the Tesco Extra store is on the right. On the left, at ground floor level, are the mall retail units. The ones with frontages that are inset slightly into the mall are due to be fitted out shortly and it is these five stores that are likely be trading on the opening day.
Now we're a little further into the mall, but still close to the Town Square entrance. While most of the first floor mall units on the left will be given over to centre management functions, there will be two retail units on that level. A balcony projects into the mall in front those two retail units.
Now we've moved to the Bradley Stoke Way end of the mall and are looking back towards the Town Square entrance. The first floor balcony is now on the right of the picture. Black sheeting has been laid on the tiled floor to protect it from the machinery that is being used to put the finishing touches to the mall. On the left, temporary white sheets protect openings into the Tesco Extra store.
Another view from the Bradley Stoke Way end of the mall showing construction workers finishing off the distinctive ceiling. Natural light enters the mall through triangular windows on either side.
Here we're looking out of the Bradley Stoke way entrance towards the Leisure Centre car park. The start of the bus-only slip road that will lead off the northbound carriageway of Bradley Stoke Way into the Willow Brook Centre can be seen in front of the red and white barriers.
We're now at first floor level on the staircase near the Bradley Stoke Way entrance.
Another view down the mall from a position at first floor level near the Bradley Stoke way entrance. The three ground floor units on the right (with frontages that project into the mall) are expected to be trading on the opening day. The two nearest the camera are believed to be reserved for Reflections Hairdressing and Nationwide Building Society.
We're now in the first floor office unit on the north-eastern corner of the mall, which overlooks the Swimming Pool building at the Leisure Centre.
This is another view from the same first floor office unit, this time looking along the northern side of the complex. The still-trading existing Tesco store can be seen on the extreme right. A bus lane will run along this side of the mall before rounding the town square and joining the existing access road near the petrol filling station. A third entrance to the mall is located halfway down this side of the building.
