Just had to show what we brought home with us...our cart-jumpers! A dozen pots, a few books & 2 dozen plants made their way back home! Hee hee! The San Diego Cacti & Succulent Society's Show & Sale was fabulous! Had a great time with my friend/neighbor, Mary Lou!

2011 SDCSS show-sale

San Diego Cacti & Succulent Society Show & Sale Jun, 2011 ~I apologize for the horrible quality of many of these pix! I haven't yet figured how to use my camera in this light, batteries were running out & I didn't always have my glasses on my eyes! But I thought it better to see a bad pic than none, so here they are...a year late!

Habitat Cactus & a few succulents

Cleistocrazy Bob showed me cacti & succulents in a hidden habitat! It was like hunting for Easter eggs! Great discoveries as we trekked through the bushes. Come along & see! Just several genus represented. I hope to return to name them. :) I won't disclose the location, so people will leave them alone. These pix were taken the beginning of June.

I had the pleasure to visit Bob's cacti & succulent collection at his house (CleistocrazyBob). Got to meet a few other inhabitants there too! Lots to see...can't recall the names...and if I wait to tag them, I'll never get them up here! Hope you enjoy, as I did!

Tapio's Succulent Garden May 2010

I had the opportunity to visit a delightful succulent garden of a fellow forum member. Tapio has created a colorful display along side his backyard pool, as well as surrounding areas in the front & back yards. There was a great variety of cacti & succulents, blended well. It gave me many ideas & inspired me to work on my gardens more!

Cacti & Succulent Show-Sale SDCSS Feb 2010

San Diego Cacti & succulent Society held a show/sale at Balboa Park. There were so many vendors it was indoors & out! Met with many friends, old & new from several forums. Had only a half dozen cart jumpers this time, but found 2 great books, some pottery & a tool. Was gifted a beautiful rock from Canada too! :D

My Back Yard Jungle -Before & After

One section - North side of yard & garden jungle “before“ starting whack job. :) Two vines growing over 3 Hibiscus...very pretty, but they've got to go now! If I figure how to do this right, I'll add the “after” pix to this album. Hoping to clear the lattice fence too.

2009_07_18 TaeKwonDo Sandcastle

Our son, in the red, was in a demonstration for Tae Kwon Do at Day 1 of the U.S. Open Sandcatle Competition. Day 2 is when they build the sandcastles. Some of this to show the crowds at our beach!

Julian, Cuyamaca on way home

Had to stop for gas on way home from Salton Sea area. Hadn't been in small town of Julian for ages! It's known around here for it's fabulous apple pies. Yum! Poked around a bit on the main drag & found a 2-cell jail. Snapped some from the car...more “drive-by shootings”! Some shots of the road I came from & a zoom on the 'B' on the hillside (for Banner area, I think). Views of Cuyamaca Lake on way to the 8 Freeway.

Anza Borrego on 78

Snapped from the car (mostly) on my way through part of Anza Borrego Desert. From Salton Sea area to Julian on Hwy 78. I did stop a couple times to get a few better shots. Would've stopped more if I didn't need to use a restroom! :) Besides, it was about 100° out.

Sky~Sunset ~on way 2 "Rosy"

This is what I call a “drive-by shooting”! I drive by, while my sis, Theresa, is shooting! :D Going from Las Vegas to Salton Sea, we had a fabulous run with the sunset & gorgeous skies. BEST VIEWED in SLIDESHOW mode! :) There is an occasional pole, sign, car or bush that jumped in the pic! Hope you enjoy as we did! I keep finding a new, favorite pic!

C & J's Cactus Nursery visit w/Al & Jürgen -wholesale, not open to public- which is just up the hill from Steve Hammer's. I couldn't stay long here, so not AS many pix. Made Jordi happy with more POKEY plants though! :) Dime in for size comparison shots. No names, but maybe I'll get some captions written.
