Through generous gifts from friends and family, Jimmy, Aaron and Chris headed for Thailand for a 10 day mission
The food was great in Thailand...but we promise, that's not why we went!
Our chosen mode of transport...the sung tao (a kind of pick up truck taxi)
And if the truck is full, you just hang off the back
Thailand is mainly Buddist. Some shots from a temple...
a temple beggar child
Big contrasts between a religion dedicated to enlightenment and peace...
And a world renown prostitution industry in the cities...these girls only sit, waiting to be picked each night
We got to connect with friends working there. This was a day with Jeff and Lucy Williams working with YWAM Chiang Mai
They took us to climb a beautiful, limestone waterfall
We were able to visit the Christian school to see the library our team helped to build last year
Aaron left his mark on the building
Inside the library made of mud
This is YWAM's "Home of Joy" where we were invited to one of the kids' birthday party.
Kathleen and her staff care for 9 kids
"Miss Mary Mack"
No, really, we didn't go for the food
Us with Al, our new friend at Compasio, a ministry to the Burmese refugees on the Thai border
Some street kids in a border town
A Christian school for Burmese and hill tribe kids
We got to teach a fun song
The kids trying out our moves
A Burmese refugee camp near the border
A Karen woman in our taxi...she shared with us some rice cooked in bamboo
A Christian school at the camp
Helpers at the little school
Walking with Sia, a Compasio worker along the border
Our short walk through Thailand got this nation into our hearts and we eagerly anticipate partnerships and future ministry with the friends we made. Pray for us. Pray for Thailand.
And we really didn't go for the food.
