Starting off the walking tour at Edgware Road. Frank gives me a stare because I'm a slow and like to look at the sights and take photos... :)
They drive on the same side as Sri Lanka! Plus red double deckers!
An interview about the situation in the area because recently a young tourist girl had a throat slit out by a hoodie.
There are a lot of nice cars in London.
The parking lot at a fancy hotel. All fancy European cars parkd so very neatly.
And then there is the Range Rover (which I wanted to cover by the bush) parked the other way and destroying the scene the other cars are trying to make. I had to take this picture for Muchemi though.
Post box (just like the ones in Sri Lanka)!!!
According to the small inscription on this lamp, this street lamp is one of the historical lamps of London (although the gas lamp has been replaced with an electric bulb now)
Funky looking cabs!
They have really expensive european cars and they also have very very small cars from Asia.
Fancy Ritzy hotel.
A monument built for Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi soldiers who fought for the British in the World Wars.
The entrance to St. James' Park. Find Frank!
There he is, giving me a salute.
As we're walking through St. James' Park towards Buckingham Palace... the weather is quite warm and comfortable...jinx!
Frank gives me the eye as it gets darker...
Buckingham Palace.
The path of trees that lead to the Buckingham Palace Mall gate. Weather looks really nice.
And as I turn around, it turns really dark and gloomy and starts to rain (of course).
Close-up of the gate with the fountain right behind.
Palace Guard
Fountain across from the palace - Victoria fountain i think?
The shield/seal I found on the gates which I found to be very cool looking!
Fountain
Pips playing football, Green Park
Pelicans chilling in the rain
This guy was feeding the squirrel
Cottage right at the edge of the park
Queen's quarters
Queen's emergency guards. It was really intense watching this guy because it was really slippery and he had to do the marching thing and since he needs to stamp his feet down, he sometimes would have near slips.
London famous dude.
I like this picture. I wish I knew what this buildin was because it looks kinda cool.
Red double decker bus!!!
Downing street!!
We were trying to see if we could get a sneak peek of Blair's house.
The famous Red Lion bar
The Red Lion logo
Big Ben!
The weird looking Tesco (of course) building across the street from the house of parliament.
Frank's head is hurting because he can't fathom how Big Ben is kinda distorted looking
And then came Beatrice!
And there was plenty of striking across the street! Yay Strike for peace and humanity
HOP
Thames, Thame's cruise ships and the London eye
The complex right next to the eye.
The fun kiddie thingy right by the star wars musuem
Yes, they have a star wars museum in London. He was really angry. Not sure why, but I guess it fit the role.
Really interesting but clear Dali piece.
The London Eye is quite an engineering marvel
The pylon cables and the pivot base hold most of the weight of the Eye while the wheel rests and glides on a base semi-sunk in the river.
I'm sure the view up there is prolly amazing on a rare clear moment like this.
Hip hoppers break dancing
This harry houdini-ish guy was tied up and he freed himself from the chains. And then everyone left. Some people clapped.
He was funny. And then he asked me for money and I left.
invisible guys
i thought this was pretty cool - both the guys were short and so they could pull it off . the rough thing was that it was prolly warm in the jacket
They were really good. The played some excellent music and I wanted to dance. Needed a chica, wasn't going to dance with Frank, no?
Bikers, boarder, punks
They were really good too. Seemed like a family band or something. But they got kicked out.
The London beach
Thats a good idea huh? Make a sand thingy, sit on the beach, read a book which your kids play around. Good sunday relaxing on the beach and making a little bit of money.
The Tate - Dali exhibit going on...
Old school brick tunnel
Narrow alleys - a London experience
People had drawn faces on these blocks, which were outside a church. It was quite funny since the eyes were night lights
LED walkways! So cool, for night illumination!
HMS Belfast, Thames river and Tower bridge
Tower of London
City hall and some other buildings. Very different looking from the building right across the river
That egg-shaped building
A closer look...Later we found out it was the building for a German bank
City Hall
Thames river looking from the tower bridge. City hall on the left side, tower of London on the right side.
Yes, it is the tower bridge not the London bridge (common misconception).
The London Wall - the last remnant of Roman occupation in London.
Another look of the eggie before we boarded the train and concluded an excellent day!
