The dimensions of the wood allow a 8x8 grid of nails, so this organizer will hold 64 spools of thread.
6D finishing nails. Notice that there are on 60 in this package. So much for 64 spools of thread...
The finishing nails are 2“ long. This is long enough to hold standard spools without sticking out the top.
All of the nails are in place.

But how are we going to hang the organizer? These straps were salvaged from an old mirror.
These 1/2“ long screws fit in through the holes in the straps and won't push through the 3/4” plywood.
I've screwed the straps 4“ from the left and right edges and down just far enough from the top so they won't be visible when the organizer is hanging.
