Rollins Wind Project is 40 GE 1.5 MW turbines like this one. 389 feet from base to apex of the blade, taller than the tallest building in Maine, Franklin Towers in Portland, which is 202 feet tall.

Here's the entrance to tower #7. Hidden under the shale surrounding the huge tower is a massive amount of concrete and steel rebar. Due to the easily shattered shale rather than solid bedrock to anchor to, the maximum base had to be poured.
Everywhere you look to the north/northwest is omnipresent Mt. Katahdin. Wind developers are targeting ridges much closer to Maine's greatest icon.
The flatlands out there are the rich wetlands of the thousand acre bog of Mattakeunk Stream. The Rollins Project is located in the heart of the most significant migratory waterfowl flyway in Maine.

Meet the Moores, who live on a small farm. Their animals were spooked by the blasting during construction. They have listed the farm for sale so they can move to a quieter spot away from the turbines. They believe the turbines have lowered the value of the property.
