We took a day trip out to Akaroa on the 4th of Jan. We were all exhausted after doing so much over the lasts few weeks, but it was well work the time and effort. Its really beautiful and it has to be one of the most relaxing and serene places on earth.

Day One: Water taxi from Marahau to Awaroa; hike Awaroa to Bark Bay. Overnight at Bark Bay hut. Day Two: Bark Bay to Anchorage. Overnight at Anchorage hut. Day Three: Anchorage to Marahau.

Lewis Pass, 22 Dec 2006

We drove back to Christchurch from Nelson via Lewis Pass. Its a scenic drive mostly bypassed by tourists at this time. We stopped at Maruia Hot Springs (no photos there) for an ultra relaxing soak in the geothermal rock pools.

Abel Tasman Track March 2006

We took a water taxi to Totoranui, then hiked to Mutton Cove before returning to Totoranui to camp for the night. Next day we hiked down to Ohetahuti, day three we camped at Akersten Bay, then we walked out to Marahau.

Te Anau and the West Coast Glaciers

This starts in Te Anau, where our camera broke. So we are missing images from Queenstown and the Milford Sound. We picked up some disposable cameras in Queenstown so we were able to capture images of the beautiful west coast of the South Island.

From Lake Coleridge to Dunedin

This was the start of our South Island trip in the spring of 2006. We started out at Lake Coleridge, then went to Mt Cook via Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki, then we passed through Oamaru and the Moeraki Boulders on our way to Dunedin to meet up with our mates.
