Getting on to our little ferry... notice the pickup contents. Classic Maine pickup truck!
You don't get any more “Maine” than Andrew!
Andrew's latest addition to his pickup truck art installation. The meat was at the butcher being packaged... He is not a “rack” hunter.
Charlie's Command Center
Jack always wears a smile and has a warm New England welcome ready for you!
These photos were taken during a storm a while back, these are photos of the little 4x5 photo prints.
Winter can hit this little house pretty hard, but Charlie built it strong. It is not going anywhere!
Inside the boat house...
Charlie in his shop, building something or other... he has a million doo-dads to build it seems!
Any better place to work than this, I don't think so!
One of my favorite signs on the island warning the day-trippers to slow down... a little further down you see the next sign ->
Island Colors... my version of an impressionistic photograph
I think Charlie would throw all cameras into the bay if he had his way!
This is fresh, just look out back (next photo! ->)
How much fresher can your seafood be than when the boats pull up to your back door!
Cool hole in the wall or shady dive? I don't know... YET! :-)
Looks inviting though!
Best breakfast sandwich in town I think, and damn good corn beef hash!
Ryan and I having a last breakfast in Portland
Freshly brewed coffee and Stoli!
Ryan Harris and his post hike sausage!
Bridget loves the new Volvo she rented while she was here!
Bridget found a boyfriend for the evening...
After we cooked the lobster for the Bioneers, Bridget and I found and empty cabin nearby and began our own dinner. We refuse to divulge how many lobsters we ate... (I think we can't remember!)
Who needs a shell cracker with Bridget around?
Oh... the carnage.
Who needs a GPS when you got granite?
A pint of Guinness, rabbit stew and a book at one of my favorite places in Portland, Bull Feeney's!
The rocky coast of Maine
Near Falmouth
Autumn drive in New England!
Does it get ANY more quaint? This is ridiculous!
Autumn biking in New England... sweet.
Pumpkin Festival!
Here is the Damariscotta pumpkin catapult “launching” a ripe one! I was amazed at how far this thing could send these little items! They landed probably 400-500 yards away in that pond!
This little guy really wanted to launch one!
The best discovery on this day trip from Portland... South Bristol! I think I am in love...
Crab Rolls!
The cutest farm stand with the BEST honey is where I ended my day.... What a nice day trip in my rental car. Now you want to live here too I bet!
The End
I stumbled onto this little summer community accidentally and it was so cute it could have walked right out of Down East magazine
Many of the homes had names on them... this one was obviously sweet
New England is nothing if not quaint
And then into the tourist haven of Bar Harbor. Cute, but full of people. Most had international accents which was fun though!
Acadia was just passing its prime for fall foliage and still beautiful
My pseudo-toy camera shot
Welcome to the working waterfront town of Stonington
I get thet sense that this is an old sea town from way back just walking around on this cloudy day.
I guess this one is a fixer-upper
Lobstah roll and a bowl of clam chowdah. Yessah!
Here I am loving the empty little town of Stonington, ME
A working lobster boat
Low Tide
This ends my trip to Stonington sadly...
I left as the storm was about to blow in...I wish I could have stayed for that.
Yessah! The #2 best selling liquor in Maine, the 1-liter coffe brandy. Just behind the #1 best-seller, the 1.75-liter coffee brandy!
It's a party on the wharf!
