Hanging out in the pre-op room. Loving the hat!
My scar right after the surgery on Friday (08/10/2007)
My scar, yet again, with the Jackson-Pratt drainage tube (lower left side of picture).
After waking up from the anethstesia, I felt like I had been punched in the throat and was pretty nauseaus too. Ironically, the hospital served me some very spicy soup and a whole chicken breast on a crusty-bread roll. I managed most of a pudding cup.
Mom tried feeding me. I'd only been awake for about 2 hours at that point.
No more spicey soup, please.
Jessi, Kimberly, and Martha kept me company for a while after the surgery! What great friends they are!! :-D
Mom and Dad were there from the time I woke up around 2:30 until about 10:30 in the evening!
Thyroidectomy scar on the day of the surgery.
JP Drainage tube in my throat. Only needed it for one day.
Getting the JPDrainage tube out.
Thyroidectomy scar with Durabond three days after surgery. The three little dots are from the Jackson-Pratt drainage tube. They won't be visible after a short time.
Three days after the thyroidectomy. Scar is looking pretty good, isn't it?
