Stadium Sabaudin Shehu
On the road again, out of Gjirokastra, headed up to Tepalena and beyond.
Not much to see here.
Almost looks like a volcano.
Could see for many miles.
Ali Pashe Tepelena - a ruthless warlord who united much of Albania under his dominion away from the Ottoman Turks. This is the city named after him. His statue sits at the base of town.
Here is the castle that makes up the base of the village.
Commies

Blurry photo of a little market.
These kids were playing some soccer in the yard. We decided to take a couple of photos.

Pretty bland village.

An grandmother and her granddaughter look at us wondering what we are up to.
Kejda and the wall of Pasha.
Inside the castle walls - they really have descrated this castle. This garden was probably the nicest place inside. The photo was taken from up top of the castle wall.
Old chairs rest on top of the castle wall. Telephone polls site behind.
The edge of the castle wall.
Here is a restaurant built into the corner of the castle. Perhaps those old chairs used to be inside this restaurant.
Notice the lamps?
A little river bed near the Tepelene water springs.
Here is the old man tending his garden inside the Tepelena Castle.
Entrance to the castle. There was very little of note to see.
See what I mean?
Selam Musai - some Ottoman, I suppose.
The local soccer pitch. Someone was jogging around it.
One of the corner fortifications.
