"Gorgeous. I'm totally into your composition here."

"Thanks it helps to have great models, I just push the button, they do all the work."
Glen Dudley
"Got it...that's what I thought. I really do love this one. =)"
April Huff
"I think you have to upload it. I don't think you can transfer directly from my album to your album"
Glen Dudley
"Hey Glen, do you know if there's a way to make this my profile pic over here on G+? Or do I need to upload it onto my page before I can do that?"
April Huff
"+Joshua Russo Thanks for the comments on this image. yo are correct this image does have a soft focus thanks to 1.8 and shaky hands. Your Critiques are fine. the more information the better. As long a you are not getting personal with your critique, such as "that is the ugliest person on the planet" then I will accept all critique. I also try to try out all suggestions even if I don't update the image online I do try different version to see the outcome."

"+Joshua Russo Thanks for the critique She was under a tree in the shade but the tree had way to many breaks in the foliage and was bleeding in bright streaks across her face, so I used a diffuser above her to shade her some. other than that it is all natural light. you can see the hot spots on the foliage just behind her.

I went in and brightened the eyes a bit, but I cant get them the way I want them. She is like me and has really dark brown eyes, and because I see her everyday they look a little off when I lighten them up. I did crop out her fingers and did a little contrast adjustment. If I get the eyes to look natural I will upload an edited version.

Also, you did read it correctly. these where impromptu shots in the middle of the day so I wanted to get as much feed back as possible."

"Side note: These are the first critiques I've taken part in on G+. It's a much bigger community than I'm used to for critiques, so I'm certainly open to, um... critique critique. Too harsh, too vague, too long (who? me?), too gushing, whatever. I get huge value out of thoughtful critique, I'm just hoping I can provide the same."

"This one's not grabbing me like the other one did. The light still works and I like where she's placed in the frame, but first impression was that the strong color and contrast of the brick is competing for attention with her face and the pose feels awkward.

It's hard to say for sure at web resolution, but is the focus a bit soft in the eyes and sharp just forward around the forehead hair and her shoulder camera-left? Not an easy thing to nail at f/1.8. I've got 1000's of shots to prove that fact. I'm assuming you used AF, out of curiosity, which focus point did you use?

Lastly, you're kinda dealing with an odd mid-hand crop, but at least this shows where the mystery fingers from the other shot go. :)"

"Great shot right off-hand. A definite keeper, IMO. I like the framing, the light is even, great catchlights, and there's great detail in the hair. I like the expression - looks thoughtful and unposed.

I'm guessing she was in some small patch of shade, otherwise I'm kinda puzzled how it's lit. Anyway, this whole paragraph is a nit-pick, but I could see flagging just off camera-left to let the light fall off a little there for a smidge more drama and visual depth. I could also see going through trouble to purposely light a shot just how this one's lit, so take that bit with a grain of salt.

Aside from that, I'd consider cropping out the partial fingers bottom-left - just a mystery appendage. I'd come in on the bottom right corner to keep the framing as intact as possible, cause I really like how she's situated.

I could also see brightening the irises just enough to see the boarder between iris and pupil a little better. Really make 'em pop, but still keep the level of contrast you have overall, which I think is good.

Edit: Gosh, I hope I read that tag right - after all this long-winded stuff, is it short for "Critique Please"? :)"
