This "sack technique" ('bosta poddhoti' in Bangla) is useful to people who have paucity of backyard land. They can grow creepers as well as erect plants from these sacks. The creepers & plants come out from the top as also from from the perforated sides of sacks, thus maximising space utilisation by growing even from the sack side surfaces. The creepers can then be led onto a 'machan' (bamboo terrace) to grow and flourish at an elevated level, while the erect plants remain in the sacks.
