Tom, David, and myself did a mid January ascent of Baldy. Snow conditions were great and with the exception of the wind above tree line, it was a great day.

Jicarilla Peak

Los Alamos to Santa Fe Run
A group of us ran from Los Alamos towards Santa Fe. We went down Rendija Canyon to NM502. Then crossed the Rio Grande and parrelled the river to Buckman Road. Took a detour up Diablo Canyon and then Allison picked up Jason and myself. We got alomst 22 miles in.

Taking advantage of the warm weather and low snowfall so far this season, Jason and myself decide to run up Santa Fe Baldy. The 13 mile run with around 3,500 feet of climbing took us just under 4 hours to complete. We had great weather and the trail was in excellent condition not requiring anything but running shoes.

Nolan's 14
Nolan's 14 is a run over 14 Colorado summits that top out over 14,000 feet. This is an unofficial event with a suggested time limit of 60 hours. http://www.mattmahoney.net/nolans14/ Three of us attempted this and I ended up summitting 4 of the 14 peaks in roughly 22 hours.

Trail Marking for the JMTR
Six of us went out and marked a couple of section of trail for the Jemez Mountain Trail Runs. Shown are pictures from 1) the Ski Lodge Aid Station to Pipeline Aid Station (mile 36 to 39 in 50 mile and mile 19 to 22 in 50k). 2) Pipeline Aid Station to Valle Grande Aid Station to the Saddle between Cerro Grande and Pajarito Moutain (mile 17 to 24). 3) Top of Pajarito to Ski Lodge Aid Station (mile 34 to 36).

California Climbing Trip.
For the past several years Jason and myself have been taking a two week long fall climbing trip. This year we went to California. We climbing mostly in Yosemite, but also got to the high Sierras for a day of more remote climbing. On the way home we stopped at Red Rock outside of Las Vegas for a little sandstone climbing to break the drive up. I tried to limit the number of pictures for each climb and also put in a lot of landscape pictures for the non-climbing visitors.

Grizzly Peak (13,988 feet)
Dan, Jason, and myself set out to climb Grizzly Peak via the East Ridge route from the McNasser Gulch Trail head. We were expecting loose conditions and a slow climb. The route was much nicer than we were expecting and we were all back to the car in 3:15. It was a nice way to end another great weekend of climbing the high peaks of Colorado.

Maroon Bells
Theresa, Rich, Robin, Jason, and myself rang the bells. We ascended Maroon Peak via the South Ridge, then traveresed to North Maroon, and descended via the North East Ridge. We had great weather and everyone had a great time on the climb.

Pajarito and Cerro Grand Training Run
Photos of a 22 mile training run around Los Alamos. We started at Jason's house and took the Mitchell Trail to Guaje Ridge to Pipeline to the top of the Pajarito Ski Hill. From there we dropped down the back side and went up Cerro Grande. The return to town was down Canon de Valle to the Perimeter Trail into town.

Williams Lake Cirque
Erik and myself headed up to the Taos Ski Valley to hike the cirque around Williams Lake. We started at the Williams Lake Trail Head and hiked up the ski area to the top of Kachina Peak. From there we went over Lake Fork Peak, Point 12818, Simpson Peak, Old Mike Peak, and finally to Wheeler Peak. From Wheeler we descended the West slopes directly to Williams Lake and then hiked back to the car. This is a very enjoyable ridge hike and is definately recommended.

Hardrock 100 2007
The Hardrock 100 is a 100 mile endurance run that takes place in Colorado. It goes from Silverton to Ouray to Telluride and back to Silverton. In the process is passes through some very secinic terrian in the San Juan Mountains. The course has over 33,000 feet of elevation gain and is run at an average elevation of 11,186 feet.

Mount Ouray (13,971 feet)
Myself along with Cuba and Nova did Mount Ouray to finish up a weekend of climbing 13ers. This would be the 5th 13er of the weekend. I made this a loop hike by ascended the Northeast Ridge and descending the East Ridge. This was the perfect "Tour de Ouray".

Lackawanna Peak (13,823)
Dan and I along with Nova and Cuba made a quick climb of Lackawanna Peak. We climbed the direct South Slopes routes, which goes 3,400 feet directly up to the top in 1.7 miles.

After climbing Lackawanna in the morning, Dan and I decided we could do Horseshoe in the afternoon. The weather was great, just a couple of clouds. We did Horseshoe by the West Slopes route from the Gold Basin Trailhead. This was a quick hike to wrap up the day!
Emerald and Iowa
Dan and I along with Nova and Cuba climbed Iowa and Emerald Peaks, two high 13,000 foot peaks. We approached from the Missouri Gulch Trailhead and descend to the Rockdale Trailhead making a nice loop hike.
