My very first complete kite build. A Sano 'kit' from Paul Shirey. November 2010.
The sail kit as sent from Paul.
My very first taped panel. Straight seams would have been much easier. Came out just fine though after some swearing...
I can do this! Even added pin striping.
I always thought sewing was a 'girly' thing growing up. Now I look at how sewn items are made.
Two panels are nice.
Sail is sewn.
The nose was a challenge at first. The second attempt was pretty good.
I even cut and added the Aerostar logo hoping to impress Paul. Moonie tape as the rub patch.
All flown kites should have a little dirt.
Traditional LE cutouts. Makes adding stack lines easy.
After three years and lots of flying, this kite still looks good.
Trailing edge details
The tips came out nicely also.
Which is Steve's build and which is Paul's?
