Gas station in the distance, stranded on the way to Heaven Lake. The driver forgot to fill up before leaving town. By the time he got back from the station an hour later, carrying a large kettle of gasoline, we were nearly beside ourselves with frustration. In the end, we turned around and spent the rest of the day in Urumqi, drinking cocktails at the Sheraton.
