The Majestic Route 66
The Route 66, the mother road. The only road that existed in the now highway interlaced US of A between Chicago and Los Angeles. The road that was lifeblood to thousands in history, when they catered to the millions of merchants and workers and optimists and musicians and lovers.
Spanning a total length of 2400 miles, across 8 different states (Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California), innumerable small and large cities (Chicago, St. Louis, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Flagstaff, Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino and finally Los Angeles).
I started the trip from St. Louis (geographically the most closest to me from Louisville, Kentucky) and took a 8 day, 2800 mile trip to Santa Monica.
The weather was torturous, with the chill factor below -10 C (15 F) and snow all along the way. It was just me, and a small rented Hyundai Accent and my cameras and the will to do it.
Enjoy...
