Katie, Maryanne, Vicki led the first lap; I'm not far behind
I passed Vicki just around the 600m mark, and never was able to catch Katie or Maryanne
it was only 65F but sure felt hot; I dumped water on my head almost every lap
settled into a nice rhythm, hitting the 2K mark at 11:18.6 (about 5:39/k average), on pace for a PR
the strain is showing later in the race
