Anahuac NWR 2011
Photos taken at Anahuac NWR in Texas in May, 2011 during the severe drought suffered by that part of the country. The reeds, normally adjacent to the water in the bayou, were several yards from the water. Least Bitterns and King Rails, normally very secretive, were forced to come out into open areas to fish. This allowed me to get unusual shots of the birds in the open.
