Stone flooring in Cardiff for the Fulthorpe family

A limestone flooring installation in the Heath area of Cardiff. A challenging job as the floor needed substantial levelling to produce a 'smooth' floor. This stone floor has underfloor heating so flexible adhesives and grout were used to accomodate this superb looking stone supplied by Mandarin Stone.

Even the best tiling jobs can go wrong by fitting incorrectly. This series of tiling photos shows where a previous tiler had not completed the job properly. As far as I could tell this was the third time this en-suite had been tiled. The second time the builder ignored the rotten wood and covered everything in marine ply allowing the underside to rot. you will see that we cleared all the accesible bad timber, vacuumed out the debris and sprayed an anti-fungal treatment before fitting with all the correct adhesive, grouts and silicone replacing some walls with tile backer board.

This series of pictures show the stages of setting out, laying and finishing to calibratedNatural stone paving (Sandstone) at an exterior location. Every stone is a 600 x 300mm calibrated stone and was laid 'brick bond' or 'half bond' with all joints connecting vertically to horizontal lines on each step.
