Corner crack at front corner....please do explain how ANY inside system repairs this and stops further water, insects etc from continuing to enter!!! See what this ORG says http://www.nawsrc.org/tipsFAQ.php READ PLEASE, Q & A 5.. Should outside of basement wall(s) be re-sealed? THEY actually answer....'Generally speaking,No. This work should have been done when your house was built..etc. UN-BE-lieavble! Memebers of this ORG are just about ALL, INSIDE SYSTEM Co`s and, recommend by some in the MEDIA!! Better check the customer complaints,Unfair Business-Sales Practices, misrepresentations etc etc folks! Back to quest/answer...look at the many pictures, leave these cracks etc OPEN? Allow further water, insects, soil gases to enter?? Leave clay, underground roots against walls?? Hey, when built homes were NOT waterproofed and weren`t backfilled correctly!! Parging/damproofing is NOT waterproofing & backfilling w/all gravel!!!
front corner. Right. You don`t see any cracks....doesn`t mean there aren`t any there! Superman would see them. That`s where experience & honestly comes in to play. Some would tell homeowners to raise and slope the grade. What good would THAT do? Does that repair the cracks/existing-defects? Hardly!
pretty much the same huh. Say again, homeowners gets-sees water ONLY come in basement at floor-wall joint. http://homes.winnipegfreepress.com/index.php?action=news&step=article&id=24 ...2nd last para, Internal weeping tile installation is not a good solution,in my opinion, as the messy and costly installation may affect the structural integrity of the basement floor slab and does NOTHING to stop FURTHER DETERIORATION of the outside of the foundation walls. PEST-Proof http://lancaster.unl.edu/pest/resources/TermiteHome.shtml ...Termites can squeeze through a 1/32-inch crack http://lancaster.unl.edu/pest/resources/pest-proofing.shtml ...Make sure all cracks around the OUTSIDE of your house are sealed so mice, rats, snakes and insects can`t squeeze in
Q & A 7 and 9 here for now, FALSE CLAIMS,MISREPRESENTATIONS etc! Tired of the lies man. http://www.bdry.com/faq.php#9 Q`s...Outside excavation and Should i have outside of my basement walls sealed? Compare above to this please, first 5 para`s he gets this part http://www.askthebuilder.com/NH058_-_Waterproofing_Foundations.shtml ...to PERMANENTLY stop water and water vapor from entering...you need to waterproof them. http://www.unomaha.edu/neighborhoodscan/codeenforcement/foundation.php Foundation Walls, All foundation walls shall be maintained plumb and free from OPEN CRACKS and breaks and shall be kept in such condition so as to prevent the entry of rodents and other pests......Water entering the foundation through cracks, holes or breaks can freeze and expand causing damage to the foundation. All conditions that permit entry of rodents or other pests must be corrected. See incompetence, rubber membrane HERE,first 4 photos http://www.mcphersonpainting.com/prep.htm
Say again, many EXTERIOR cracks are NOT visible on inside basement wall...as this homeowner found out,see his photos http://www.catskillhouse.us/blog/crack-in-the-foundation-wall/ .. he says, I found this crack in the corner of our foundation wall. It was a bit of a surprise because inside the basement there is NO evidence of a crack. 2 Girls Die in Possible Pesticide Exposure http://www.clippertoday.com/printer_friendly/6054158 ....investigators believe the FUMES made their way into the Toone home through tiny cracks where the foundation meets the building. http://wcco.com/consumer/escaped.gas.frost.2.1517844.html ....The GAS made it`s way into the home through cracks or ANY in BASEMENT WALLS where the gas goes up against the wall
Detroit, back porch. Homeowner RECENTLY hired Goofball waterproofing to......waterproof it! Hmmm, why are WE there NOW?
around the porch, 3 sides eh
you see some tar.......but no hydraulic cement in-over any of the problems/openings AND they backfilled with ALL of the same CLAY soil and....charged homeowner MORE than i did. Rip offs and incompetent.
really need to USE hydraulic cement first, BEFORE the mastic. PEST-Proofing http://lancaster.unl.edu/pest/resources/pest-proofing.shtml ...Make sure all cracks around the outside of your house are sealed so mice, rats, snakes and insects can`t squeeze in (rats can get through openings 1/2" diameter--mice can get through holes no bigger than a dime). Termites, to get into a structure termites must build a mud tube over the foundation OR they must have a crack in the foundation or floor. Termites can squeeze through a 1/32-inch crack.......If termites get inside of thew hollow block they can travel vertically into the house with NO apparent signs of mud tubes http://lancaster.unl.edu/pest/resources/TermiteHome.shmtl
lady wanted to save concrete eh, steps for back door go here and she`s already out $$$ from prior contractor.
backfill with all gravel
Inside basement, under the porch....come on in.
How much paint etc (prolly Drylok) is on bottom blocks? Did it solve anything? Nope, but keep trying.....Drylok etc appreciates the business huh. What good would installing ANY inside system do? It`s not going to repair the exterior openings thus water would still enter the blocks and mold etc would continue to grow which is one reason WHY most inside system companies want to COVER the lower blocks w/vinyl etc and sometimes they`ll cover all of the basement wall, you will not SEE any further mold, efflorescence etc, you won`t see possible widening of cracks or wall bowing in. Can you say SCAM?
gotta STOP the water, water vapor etc in order to stop-prevent mold
