Back wall and around corners onto side wall,1 day job,hand-dug,waterproofed and backfilled w/gravel.PART-of back wall PREVIOUSLY 'damproofed' and was backfilled with same excavated crap soil, not good and won`t last.
Underground roots eh
Roots may not always cause cracks, they can grow up-to wall and then veer off. Some roots will cause cracks, some roots will cause cracks-in-parging,some will grow into existing cracks and can widen those cracks
last couple photos you`ll see what came OUT of trenches, what WAS previously backfilled.
Have to find, seal all openings...some are just under the grade, some are right along the grade and some above the grade
Will an inside system with sump repair/waterproof any of these open joints, cracks? Will they remove any underground roots off the wall? Do they go outside and hand dig ALL the way DOWN and remove clay? Nope they sure don`t.
there WAS an 8"-12" thick concrete slab against basement wall in this-area.Wall bowed, pushed in a lil, what does Fairfax County VA say to do? Scroll down to, Basement Wall Damage please http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/DPWES/publications/marineclay.htm They say,in part...to prevent future damage, the clay MUST be REMOVED and replaced with sandy-gravelly soils....the exterior side of wall should be waterproofed. Hmmmmm, do they tell you NOT to excavate and not to waterproof and leave the clay and instead just install an inside system??? I don`t see that and even if i did, they would be wrong, but they do not. They have much more on the shelf than Bozo`s Big Top Interior waterdiverting
part of previous rookie job,of course they`d have all believe they`re experts, not me! lolol
Corner crack eh. Adding soil or extending downspout extension 50 miles away does not repair/waterproof the actual-problems,won`t keep ALL SUB surface water away from entire depth of basement walls/cracks but keep trying! Just don`t sell a house w/existing cracks-defects and not disclose them to buyer, your asking for trouble.
These guys get, understand the IMPORTANCE of backfilling w/all gravel too,READ 6th paragraph please http://dwightyoderbuilders.com/concrete.cfm ...Some homeowners will get water under floor and then it could rise up through floor cracks etc DUE TO, READ PLZ http://www.jsonline.com/news/milwaukee/48646722.html ...too much water, too fast/aging sewer system OR blocked/clogged lateral line etc.KAPPEL pegged CLOGGED LATERALS as much of the cause... Here, inside system was installed and several sump pumps, still leak http://www.thedailyjournal.com/article/20100220/NEWS01/2200309
almost done, hmmm i don`t see all the supposed ruined landscaping etc that inside system onwers/salespeople chirp about. This job was a tad over $3,000,how much you think the inside co`s want who won`t repair these cracks etc
excavated soil, roots and other crap.......all hauled away, bye bye
