President's Challenge Volunteer Wall Mural painting
In Shivali's own words - I was approached by SWAMI Home (a charity organization for old and suffering people) to support their President’s Challenge Volunteer work. After understanding the good cause I gladly agreed to volunteer for this mural painting for their Dementia ward. Unfortunately I met with an accident and hurt my right wrist. However, to keep up to the commitment, with the strong support of a team of 10 volunteers from BD Technologies, I started painting on 19 Sep. I am also thankful to a good friend, Shivali (yes, like our passion we also share our names), who is an artist and has been very instrumental in this project.
I wanted this painting to be 'full of life', to cheer up the residents of SWAMI Home, who are suffering from dementia. Nature has a power to solace everyone, which is why I chose this theme. The inspiration comes from the paintings of one of my favorite artists, Terry Harrison a renouned Artistfrom UK. I’ve learnt a lot from his books.
