For sale: part of Saran ventile insock set-up: 57 HR welding machine; high frequency generator, Cox & Wright; 58 HR welding machine: Press / High Frequency head, Cox & Wright; 59 Gantries for material rolls; 60 Dull size range (2-13, 2 Widths/length size) of HF dies. These are usually used for making PVC folders. Cox and Wright no longer exist but their old machines and successors cost in the low thousands. Pressure looks like a strength for this one. The owner hopes to get the lift cable strengthened to deliver the machine at street level - it's now on the first floor without any bidders.
60: full size range from 2-13 in two widths = 24 pairs. With pressure and radio waves these heat and weld whatever is underneath. With skill they separate it from what's next.

Work in progress is for BAE system's order - they ordered separately from the ministry of defence but the 50 pair minimum orders were not in proportion to 5 staff and a landlord. Apart from business, this shows what can be done with the enterprise of British United Shoe Machinary Ltd and Dexion, both companies which were taken over by Apax Partners - Apax.com - before complaints from former employees that the company pension funds were not paying as expected by the non-independent independent company trustees. On the front is a maintenance log. Behind the machine is the MOD's set of steel feet - like the three clamped to the front of the machines now - on which different sized boots can cool. The set cost about a quarter of a million.

On the front is a maintenance log. Behind is a huge collection of metal feet for cooling hot boots on. There are three of these machines. The process takes about ten minutes per pair per machine maybe. Factory can make up to 200 pairs a week = 5 pairs an hour.
