Night-blooming cereus (Queen of the night), Peniocereus greggii
Flowers of the night-blooming cereus bloom at Tohono Chul Park all together on one "bloom night" (or maybe two nights), so that pollination, usually by sphingid moths, can occur. Blooms last only that one night. Some plants don't bloom for several years. Most of the time, the plants themselves look like dead twigs.
