Pre-Groundbreaking Service - April 23, 2012

We are preparing for our new home on 65 Massachusetts Avenue, NW. The groundbreaking ceremony for this new facility will be held on Monday, May 7, BUT, we know we must prepare the spiritual foundation before beginning any physical renovations. Therefore, Central Union Mission hosted a special services involving our local supporters to help us bombard heaven with our petitions for guidance, protection, and provision as we go through the renovation and relocation processes.

St. Brendan's in the City Thanksgiving Outreach - November 6, 2011

In addition to providing food items sufficient for 25 complete Thanksgiving meals, St Brendan's presented the Mission with a check for $6,000 for various ministry needs (transportation for the Seniors and Children's Ministry, SmarTrip funding for men to get to appointments and jobs, for additional Thanksgiving food service needs not met by donated goods, and for purchase of Christian themed DVDs) and announced the funding of a grant program to assist men with job related needs in their transition into society as responsible and productive Christian gentlemen.

We were glad to catch up with out-of-town friends, some of our most faithful volunteers, as well as many new faces. We're looking forward to our fourth and final Executive Dinner of the season on October 26.

Ms. Mabel's Birthday Party - October 10, 2011

Ms. Mabel celebrated her 90th Birthday with Central Union Mission staff on October 10th. A retired government employee, former Mission Board Secretary, and past president of the Mission’s Evening Auxillary, Ms. Mabel has supported the Mission with her time, talent and treasure over many years. Happy Birthday Ms. Mabel!
